Talking of subs, what does it cost to be a member of RVS? Not much at all if you consider what you get out of it:

Term Subscription: £45 Adults and £30 Full time education and over 65
Weekly subs: £3 Adults and £2 Full time education and over 65. - with free drinks at the break
Uniform contribution: £20 - One off payment
As a band we have a real appreciation of Christine, simply because she fights in every way she can for the past, present and future of Rossendale Valley Sounds.

Although Christine does not play in the band, her husband Vernon (sax), daughter Charlotte (clarinet) and son Tom (sax) do - even though Charlotte and Tom are at university, they still return and play with us when they can. There was, however a memorable occasion when the ‘back row’ were short of percussionists and Christine was persuaded to play the gong - amazingly, she hit it at the right time and the concert was a success - come and make yourself a permanent member of the ‘back row’, Christine - please.
